Greetings and salutations are in order for
Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar , a genuine living legend
who just turned 92 on July 30th of this year (view his
Birthday photos via this superb Flickr slideshow ).
He is the founder of the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial
Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, named after his wife
Smt. Ramamani Iyengar. The institute which was
inaugurated on January 19, 1975 features the bust of
Smt. Ramamani at the entry gate while that of Guruji is
present in the entrance hall. Guruji's bust has been chiseled
by his devotee the Queen Mother of Belgium, at the age
of 81, joyous at accomplishing her life's dream of performing
Sirsasana.
